"Our column depends on your cooperation, Doral. Let us know what's happening with you!"

Dear Readers,

March was an exciting month for the Doral area. We had a lot going on with the Doral Ryder Open in town. I don't know how many of you had the opportunity to attend, but I was lucky enough to have gone, and I am really impressed by what a great tournament it was.

We had a lot of golf superstars in town, but in my opinion the real superstars were the many men and women who volunteered to make the event the best its ever been!

My deepest appreciation to all of the sponsors, but especially to Ryder Transportation for sponsoring an event named for our great community.

For the many volunteers who helped to make the event spectacular, we thank you and we want you to know we really enjoyed this year's Doral Ryder Open and all of the great festivities you are so good at planning.

On March 28th at Doral Country Club the Doral and Airport West Chamber of Commerce held its installation and awards banquet, and I attended as a guest of Bank United.

I listened to the speeches of dynamic leaders who had a lot of very positive remarks about our community. Ralph Arza, Milton Piedra, Carlos Rodriguez, and Gregory Swinton all gave outstanding speeches. As usual, the Doral Country Club played the perfect host.

I have been keeping busy with the enormous response the column has had this month. Everybody in Doral is on the move, and it seems most everybody dropped a line to tell us about it!
