Dear
Dr. Lori,
I wanted to let you know that the Catholic Community of Doral has a
Mass every Sunday at 8:30 am in the cafeteria at John I. Smith
Elementary School. The Mass is completely bilingual. After mass, we
stay to converse as a community of faith, drink coffee and enjoy
cookies and pastries.
The Catholic Church has acquired the land where a
future parish will be constructed. The future site of our Parish is on
NW 58 St. between NW 99 Ave. and NW 102 Ave.
Through this message we want to invite all of the
Catholics from the Doral area to share in our Community of Faith every
Sunday at 8:30 am to celebrate Holy Mass.
Sincerely, God Bless,
Rev. Ray Ortega

Dear Dr. Lori,
After multiple complaints to the Miami-Dade County sign and road
maintenance department and the office of community relations for the
county and still not knowing where to address my unresolved
complaints, it occurred to me to send a letter to Alex Penelas, the
Mayor of Miami-Dade County.
In the card I explained the existing situation
regarding the signs which had been knocked down in front of John I.
Smith Elementary School and had not been repaired. I also sent to the
Mayor a clipping of last month's Doral Tribune article that addressed
the same fallen signs that were never repaired.
To my surprise four days later I received a phone call
from Mayor Penellas' assistant who told me that the Mayor's office had
taken action and that if in four work days the fallen signs are not
repaired I should recall the Mayor's office.
After just two workdays I passed by to check on the
status of the signs and verified that thank God and our Mayor Alex
Penellas all of the signs had been repaired.
I would like to use my letter as a means of gratitude
to the honorable Mayor Penelas and his staff members for their quick
intervention in helping the Doral residents.
