The players were split into eleven different flights of six people apiece for the match play event, and each of the flight winners competed in shootout on Sunday on the eighteenth hole of the gold course, which was the toughest during qualifying school.

The players keep close watch on the tournament's leader board as play concludes on Saturday.

Mark Williams had a hole-in-one on the first day of the tournament on the eleventh hole, a 185-yard shot.
