Doral Tribune and Doral Centre Animal Clinic team up to help find lost pets, facilitate the adoption of strays

BY DR. ANJANETTE CABEZA

In the past 2 years, I can't begin to count the number of stray animals and lost pets I've come across here in Doral.

The saddest part is that the majority of animals are obviously pets, and not feral animals, as evidenced by the fact that they are well-groomed, in good health, and have friendly dispositions.

Not one of these pets had a nametag or rabies tag on when they were brought to us and only 2 had microchip implants, and those referenced disconnected phone numbers. We never did find the owners in any of these cases, so we were forced to find other loving homes for these animals.

Part of the reason this occurs is that there is no consolidated source that one can reference for lost or found animals.

Doral Centre Animal Clinic and the Doral Tribune have teamed up to be that consolidated source.

The Doral Tribune has agreed to publish a list of lost, found, and stray animals for adoption, and we will be providing Doral Tribune with the list of animals.

We encourage you to call or come in if you have a lost or found pet and we'll get your listing in the next paper. And if you're interested in adopting one of the strays listed, please give us a call and we would be happy to assist you.

Our telephone number is 305 598 1234.

Right now an owner is trying to find a loving home for his 2 month-old kittens. Call Alfredo Penny at 305 592 3423.
