Today
there are many choices in golfing equipment.
Many
top pros have opted to carry utility woods and specialty irons these
days. Years ago choices were limited to a #1, #3, #4, #5 wood, a
putter and a set 3-pitching wedge and a sandwedge or possibly a #1 or
#2 iron instead of a #4 or #5 wood (totaling the limit of 14).
When
deciding what is best for you, the first step is determining the club
combination that will work best for your game. For example, if you
have difficulty hitting the #1, #2 and #3 iron, a seven wood could be
the answer. The seven wood is easier to hit from the rough and
generally gives the golfer more room for error due to its head design.
Several
companies have developed a utility iron that has a large sole and
allows the amateur golf to achieve a higher ball flight and more
distance than a long iron.
If
you are having trouble with the long irons a seven wood or utility
iron might be the club you are missing.

Golfing,
