Doral's Catholic mission holds
its first anniversary mass
|
(Doral, FL)--The Doral Catholic community recently
celebrated the one-year anniversary of its Catholic mission, which
began in September 1999. The mission is the first step in the
expansion of the Catholic Church in a given community.
What started with a just a few families coming to
Sunday mass is now a growing community of faith. Priests, deacons, and
ministers are active in the Sunday celebrations, which is held every
week at 8:30 AM in the cafeteria of John I. Smith Elementary School at
NW 52 Street and NW 104 Avenue.
The nest step is to have our own parish and church
building, and this will be accomplished if the community continues
supporting the Sunday eucharistic celebrations with their presence.
There is evidently a great deal of enthusiasm for
these events--Doral participants from many different backgrounds are
active participants, and community leaders like the recently elected
Frank Bolaņos are always present.
"The rich ethnic diversity of our community of
faith will prevail and God's kingdom shall be expanded into this
blessed area," said Rosemary Ortega.
Please plan to attend our bilingual Sunday mass--for
more information you can call 305 513 9810.
Thank you and may God continue to bless our beloved
community.
