I would first like to thank all of the residents that
responded to the resident survey, I congratulate each person who took
the time to express their concerns about our Doral Community and how
to improve and protect what we already have. I was taken aback by the
number of responses that I received, they came in by fax, by mail, and
by way of phone calls. I would like to publish the results of the
survey and some of the comments that were made:
The survey results are as follows, prioritized
according to your responses:
1) The need for the incorporation of Doral
2) The desire for Parks
3) The improvement of our Roadways
4) Better Police Coverage
5) Better response by Fire Rescue
A sampling of some of the comments:
Mr. Victor Soto: "We lack areas for family
activities, I have seen previous plans and I am still
waiting..."
Ralph responds: Mr. Soto so are we; I have four
children and I personally agree 100% with your comments!
Mr. Roberto C. Lopez-Pereira: "Congratulations
for this excellent work."
Mr. Vincent Vinueza: "By incorporating Doral we
can invest more money in Doral, property value will increase."
Ms. Silvia Pardo: "We also believe that
controlling excessive development is important. We need additional
turnpike access on NW 25St and NW 58 St."
Ralph responds: Ms. Pardo I agree with your comments,
the Doral Community Council passed a resolution requesting a turnpike
exit on NW 74 St.
Ms. Adnery Maldonado: "The incorporation of Doral
is imperative, but also we need a public library for our
children."
Al and Connie White: "Complete divided road on NW
107th Avenue between NW 41st Street and NW 58th Street."
Ed Vazquez: "High School for El Doral."
Ms. Carolina Rodriguez: "The need for a park is
urgent."
Mr. Tony Richards: "Let's get incorporated and
then attack the other important items."
Kevin and Victoria Wilson: "Speeders on NW 58th
Street have come into the Doral Pines wall many times this needs to be
addresses before someone is hurt."
Mr. Maurico Beltran: "Schools for kids ages 2-5
are a priority!"
Mr. Luis F. Vale Gores: "The north side of NW
58th Street between NW 97th Avenue and 107th Avenue is a shame!"
Ms. Ana I. D'agord: "We need public facilities
such as library, church, youth centers, etc."
Ralph responds: We actually, currently have two
churches here in Doral. One is the Metro Life Worship Center, headed
up by Pastor Stephen Alessi, which is located on NW 79th Avenue and NW
38th Street across from Her Bets Restaurant. We also, as of
mid-September, have Catholic services, led by Father Joe Carney, that
are meeting at 8:30 AM at John I. Smith Elementary every Sunday
morning.
